The Arduino breadboard

The breadboard, which has a plastic block with holes in it and sprung metal connections behind, can make us build our complicated circuits directly, instead of soldering. So we can build the Arduino project on the breadboard rather than twisted wires.

At the edges of the breadboard are two long horizontal strips, they run at right angles to the normal strips of connections and provide power to the components on the breadboard. Generally speaking, of the two long horizontal strips, one is for ground and one is for the positive supply voltage.
When it comes to breadboard, some solid-core wire and some wire strippers are needed. You also need pliers to cut and remove the insulation from the ends of the wire. In order to understand the layout of the circuit easily, you’d better have wires of different colors, red for all wires connected to the positive side of the supply, black for negative, and some yellow for other connections. However, it is no necessary for you to use multi core wires, because you will tend to mix it up when you want to push it into the breadboard holes.

You must straighten the wires out before plug them into a breadboard. A reasonable-sized breadboard will be a good choice.
If you don’t want to attach the board permanently, you can use a small lump of adhesive putty. So it is easy to dedicate an Arduino board of you own style and leave it permanently attached to the breadboard.
